The Metalbone Ctrl 2026 from adidas is one of the most unique round-shaped rackets out there, largely due to its customizable weight system. This control-oriented racket sports a 345-360 gram weight range, and is evenly balanced for good maneuverability and stability. Unique to adidas' construction here is the ability to fully modulate the racket to your individual needs with the custom weight plates that can add up to 5.6 grams apiece on each section of attachment. These rackets come with custom weight plates that are made up of weighted plates, washers, and screws that users can add to their racket at various points to make them more powerful (weight at top) or more maneuverable (weight at bottom sides).
Around the perimeter is adidas' Power Groove, which increases structural rigidity around the edge of the racket, making heavy shots feel even more powerful. Additionally, adidas has markedly increased the length of their handle with their Extra Power Grip, which adds more leverage and reach for length-based power, which helps round out this otherwise control-focused experience. The hitting surface is made from an Aluminised 16K Carbon, which is a good best-of-both-worlds approach between a more harsh and higher K-count carbon, and a lower, more flexible K-count makeup. To help with spin production, the Spin Blade Decals grip the ball easily and consistently for cutting under, over, or across your shots. Elsewhere, the Soft Performance rubber inside the racket is made from a low density EVA that boosts comfort substantially, helping to make this frame more user-friendly. Our team at Padel Warehouse loved getting this racket dialed to their preferred characteristics, reveling in its ability to be more powerful if desired or even more maneuverable with a lower balance. For those craving control and customizability, the Metalbone Ctrl 2026 proves hard to top.
